These limits are greater in number and more restrictive than indicated in the original language of the act, causing concern in Canada’s alternative energy sector. The hope is that talks can be initiated between the act officials, solar energy developers, and the farmers to reach an amicable agreement.
As with many of its renewable energy initiatives, Canada seeks international partnerships with many countries to help spread the proliferation of solar energy generation and consumption. Founded in 1993, the Photovoltaic Power Systems Program is dedicated to working in cooperation with countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States to increase the number of facilities able to convert solar energy to electricity.
