Why don’t they make multi-purpose stadiums anymore?

Tell me something folks! What goes on at Fenway Park during the offseason? All it does is take up space like many ballparks do. I’m cool with the construction of multi-use facilities again. I think they should be octagonal shaped, so they can still be adjustable and have that conventional past-time feel either way. The exterior could be made from brick. The stadium would have a retractable roof for inclement weather, and the field would still be natural grass. All franchises that use it would pay the costs for upkeep. I would even install solar panels and helical wind turbines, so it could put energy back to the grid. I would also install compost toilets with methane digesters in all the facilities. I would make it a green stadium adorned with ivy walls, too. I know they’re already practicing this technique in Japan. So why don’t they do that here? A stadium like this is what I call an engineering marvel.
