Comments (0) Can India save a lot of money if Solar power plants are employed instead of employing other plants for power?
Will it be better if India produces electricity with the help of solar energy instead of coal or water ?
In the short term, no, for most people.
Solar is still more expensive than big power plants for electricity. But it doesn’t produce CO2 or air pollution so it leads to less global warming and fewer air pollution deaths.
In poor areas miles away from electricity lines, it might be cheaper than diesel generators and save money.
In the long run, solar is expected to be much cheaper, it will save India from having to import foreign fuels, save lives from air pollution and global warming and eventually be cheaper as well.
